Canadian Citizenship Application (N-400 Equivalent)

The Canadian Citizenship Application is the final step in the immigration journey. It allows permanent residents to become full citizens, gaining access to all civic rights and protections under Canadian law.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have been physically present in Canada for at least 1,095 days (3 years) in the past 5 years

  • Must have filed Canadian taxes (if required)

  • Must demonstrate adequate knowledge of English or French (ages 18–54)

  • Must pass a citizenship test (ages 18–54)

  • Must not be under a removal order or have a criminal history that prohibits citizenship

Required Documents

  • Proof of permanent resident status (PR Card)

  • Travel history and physical presence calculation

  • Language test results (for applicants aged 18–54)

  • Income tax documents (for at least 3 years out of 5)

  • Government-issued photo ID and passport

  • Citizenship application form (CIT 0002)
