Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)

The Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) is an open work permit that allows international graduates of eligible Canadian institutions to work in Canada for up to 3 years. It is a stepping stone to gaining Canadian work experience and transitioning to permanent residency.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Completed a program of at least 8 months at a DLI

  • Full-time student status throughout the study program

  • Applied within 180 days of receiving written confirmation of program completion

  • Maintained valid status in Canada at time of application

Required Documents

  • Valid passport

  • Proof of graduation (degree/diploma/certificate)

  • Official transcripts or letter from DLI

  • Previous study permit

  • Digital photo

  • IMM 5710 form (Application to Extend Stay or Change Conditions)
